RMP at LEAP & Six Thinking Hats
Last Thursday 23 February 2012 I had the privilege to give a short talk to the fabulous ladies of the League of Executive Assistants of the Philippines (LEAP). The current Chairperson is Chairman Maria Paz “Jinky” T. Aguinaldo. I also want to say a special “thank you” to Ms. Tintin Cobreros of UHS Essential Health Phils (Inc.) for inviting me to their meeting.
I also thank my wife Chili for taking the photos of the event. You will find the photos at http:www.facebook.com/rmpconsultancy .
My talk was on the Six Thinking Hats technique developed by Dr. Edward De Bono. Since this was still Valentine Season, the ladies asked me to give a special emphasis on the “Red Hat” or the emotional side of decision making.
As you can see from the photo above, the members got quite involved in the short exercise I designed. The question I posed was “What is the Perfect Valentine Gift – Long Stem Roses or a Box of Chocolates?” The challenge was for the participants to use the Six Thinking Hats Technique to come to an informed decision. I decided to concentrate on contrasting the White hat versus the Red Hat since we had very little time to conduct the exercise. The group came out with very many interesting insights on why either one is a perfect gift. We had lots of laughs listening to the arguments.
